CUTEC runs an annual start-up competition bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators. The competition provides a platform for early-stage companies and Cambridge students to pitch their ideas and connect with the investment and business community.

CUTEC Emerging Markets & Insights Competition

We invite Cambridge students—individually or in teams of up to three—to submit a concise, insight-driven brief (up to 1,500 words) exploring how recent technological developments are driving new market and commercial opportunities, and what routes to market could best unlock commercial potential.

We are particularly interested in submissions focused on Artificial Intelligence, Biotech & Health Tech, Climate Tech, Next-Gen Computing & Sensing, and Advanced Materials & Manufacturing.

Submission Deadline: Sunday, 1st March 2026 at 11:59pm GMT

Winning submissions will be selected by a panel of experts and will receive prize money of £1,500, be published across CUTEC's channels, and be invited to present at CUTEC's flagship Technology Ventures Conference in spring 2026.
